On the
Burrito Trail

In Summer 1998, Peter went on a journey to discover the origins of the burrito. Its ancestry was disputed. Most Mexicans wouldn't claim it as their own, while lots of Texans and Californians did. Determined to find the truth, and ready to explore the origins of the taqueria culture that had originally inspired him to start Burrito Brothers, Peter and photographer Dana Ingersoll took a journey that led from San Francisco's Mission District to Sonora, Mexico. Along the way, he sent 5 audio postcards to NPR's All Things Considered.
